Market trend of sunscreen

Suncare industry worldwide is switching from chemical to mineral UV filters

Increasing demand for low-irritant "all natural" products with pure mineral

   ingredients

Increased attention on need for adequate UVA protection (as well as UVB)

Broader use of UV filters in daily wear cosmetic like skin care & color cosmetics

Needs for effective

Mineral UVA filter

EU Recommendation on the efficacy of sunscreen products

    1. UVB Protection

      2. UVA Protection

3. Critical Wavelength

Sun Protection Factor minimum 6.

Only 8 defined SPF

values allowed

Level of UVA protection (measured by in vivo or

in vitro methods) at least

1/3 of labelled SPF.

(UVA label can be used

to highlight achievement

of protection level)

Additional criteria,

minimum of 370nm to

ensure broad band

protection

1.  Effective UVA Protection

2.  Broad spectrum protection

3.  Safe use

4.  Transparency

Zinc Oxide meet so called  ¡° 1/3 rule¡± of EU  recommendation: Level  of  UVA protection (measured

by in vivo or in vitro  methods) at least 1/3 of  labelled SPF .

No other sunscreen ingredient  provides broader protection.

It  uniformly covers from 290 to  380 nm, thus protecting  against UVB and most of  the  UVA spectrum.

ZnO has long  history of  safe use in personal care  even for very sensitive  and/or impaired  skin like  Diaper cream & Calamine  lotion.

FDA  includes ZnO  on its  list of substances  consider as Generally  Recognized as Safe  (GRAS), as  a nutrient.

Comparing TiO2 & another  inorganic UV filter, Zinc  Oxide has less whitening  effect.

Unlike chemical UV filters, Zinc Oxide is never irritating. Zinc oxide has over a 300-year history of safety, with no known adverse reactions and well-known health benefits as a natural, non-chemical UVA + UVB filter

SPF Testing 601-300W Multiport UV Solar Simulator

The UV filter used here is only Zinc Oxide. 20% of Zinc Oxide generated SPF value of 30.

It means that one percent of Zinc Oxide boosted 1.5 SPF value. -->50% improvement compare to the conventional   idea, 1% of ZnO makes 1 SPF value

Moreover, Zinc Oxide becomes much more price affordable. SUNJIN offers very competitive Zinc Oxide price which   is even lower than TiO2 price.
